Some people choose a career.
Mine grew out of a calling — a calling shaped by family, loss, resilience, and the quiet moments that change the course of a life.
I believe every person carries a “why,” a reason they fight for their family, their future, and their peace of mind. My work begins by uncovering why. Not through charts or numbers, but through listening — truly listening — to the stories that shaped you. Because I’ve lived my own.
I grew up in Midland, South Dakota, where family meant everything. For the past 16 years, Rapid City has been home. My career — from supporting New York Life agents as an Administrative Assistant to managing operations for Test Point Medical/ExamOne — taught me that service isn’t a task, it’s a responsibility. It’s showing up for people when life gets complicated.
My Why
My “why” was written long before I ever stepped into this profession.
I lost my mother to cancer at 59.
I lost my father to pulmonary fibrosis at 75.
I watched my grandfather spend 17 years bedridden, cared for at home, followed by two years in a nursing home. Our family had to sell a portion of our land just to keep him cared for.
And when he passed, my grandmother fell ill with bone cancer and died only three months later.
Those experiences taught me what financial strategy really means. It’s not about products — it’s about dignity, choices, and protecting the people you love from carrying burdens alone.
And then came the moment that changed everything for my own children.
When my daughters were young — long before any diagnosis, long before I knew what their futures would hold — a New York Life agent encouraged me to purchase small $50,000 whole life policies for each of them with a Future Policy Purchase Option rider. I didn’t realize then how life‑changing that decision would be.
Years later, both of my girls became uninsurable: one diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, the other with autonomic hypertension dysfunction. That simple decision, made when they were healthy and carefree, allowed them to lock in the life insurance coverage. .
I didn’t know it at the time, but I had protected their future before I even knew they would need protection.
That is why I do this work.
That is why I listen so closely.
That is why your story matters to me.
I’ve been married to my husband, Devlon, for 24 years, and together we’ve raised two incredible daughters — Annabella (22) and Calla (21). They are my heart, my purpose, and the reason I believe so deeply in planning ahead.
Outside of work, you’ll find me playing cards, rock hunting, taking photos, collecting Little Golden Books, or soaking up every moment with family and friends. Those simple joys — the ones we often take for granted — are exactly what I want to help others protect.
A beautiful Sunrise to start the day off right.
Unfortunately, in this world of technology, my phone..... but besides that, defiantly my family.
